~The Calling~
Tell The Truth and shame the devil
The devil that lies in wait inside
leave him then, no place to hide,
crush it down, this awful pride!
The hollow plain that was your heart
filled again with Darkest Art
but The Angel's voice ripped you apart
giving you a chance; a brand new start!
Some say the devil can’t be shamed
Some say devils should never be named
Most know devils can’t be tamed
But did anyone tell you, you can leave them lame?
People tell you to be afraid, but that stone in me was never laid
So fear not said The Angel, let nothing you affright
I took this message all the way, but The Power was far too bright!
The Shades they danced around me, as I was blinded, so Sublime
And all Darkness came for me, as I wrestled the grip of time!
Then The Light of Life it found me, The Beauty broke right through
My heart was then confounded by The God I only thought I knew!
The Truth is Powerful indeed, Faith and Hope made sure
But nothing compares to The Divine rush of Love
That Spark that ignites The Soul, gifted from Above!
Its heat courses through Heart and head, and flows down to your arms and legs
The Call of God was far too real, I lost my mind, thought it meant to kill
But I’d gladly walk dark roads again to hear His Voice break through my Sin
The feel of Your Touch break through my skin,
the back-door left open is how you came in!
The Breath of Life it found me, The Beauty broke right though
It filled my lungs and drowned me, the waters made me new
So come again God’s calling, wash over me enthralling
The lie may be so pretty, but the end results in pity
The Truth laid waste to me, the devil inside made lame,
But The Angel woke within me and led me Home again!
It changed my world completely, unmade me where I stood
The Call can be forgiving, Surrender though you should
The Madness will over take you, the way a lover would!
But let The Madness take you, let The Dark unmake you,
The Darkness it will break you, but Sublime Light will Reshape you
The Light of Life it found me, The Passion broke right through
My heart was then confounded by The God I only thought I knew!
And here I am still standing, left whole by Holy Light
and still I’m gazing upward at The Beauty of the sight
I look directly at it, staring at The Sun
Hoping to again be blinded as I watch The Darkness run!
The devil died inside you, The Heart awoke from Sleep
The Angel is aware now, and you can feel His Heat
Light of Life please find us, Beauty please brake through
Our hearts were left so empty, by absence of The God we never knew!
And I cried out “Please Save me”, take it, eat my sin
Save with Your Kiss, The Breath of Life on skin
I cry, please just rush me, hasten now to touch me
Save me with The Sun, your Love leaves Dark undone!
Our hearts calling one another in communion and delight,
was The Voice of The Almighty that had hidden from our sight
Our denial, All our lies, left bitter darkened skies
And then we just gave in, and surrendered Holy Skin
The Light of Life it found us, The Beauty broke right through
Our hearts were then confounded, by The God we finally knew!

This poem is about two people admitting they love each other after nearly destroying each other by pretending not to! One person was willing to admit it after realizing that somehow the other person had found a way into their heart with out them knowing it, or wanting it! This person also has a personality; that if they see something they want, they take it! The other once felt love and then turned angry after rejection, and grew to hate the other person! But the hate was only a mask to hide the pain of rejection! When they finally surrender to the power of the love between them, they experience Divine Ecstasy and all things in their life are made right! This Poem was inspired by many things, especially the song Breath of Life by Florence and the machine, and the love story of Brian and Justin; characters in the television series Queer as Folk! It is the second in a series of poems I want to do about Love either being a type of damnation or salvation for us! The first poem in this series was Fallen Love, which I posted at the end of an earlier blog!
