Brightest Blessings on This The Day of LUGHNASADH!!!
Today is Lughnasadh (Pronounced Loo-Na-Saw) the Celtic Festival of Light. In ancient times Olympic like games were held in honor of the mother of Lugh The Celtic Lord of Light also referred to as the old lord of light. Later long before the time of Patrickus when the first wave of original Christianity rolled through Celtia creating the Celi De (The Original Cletic Christian's who were mystics and many being Druid converts). The Early Celtic Christians who changed their worship to The Holy Christian Trinity began to refer to Christ as The Young Lord of Light or The New Lord of Light, until such a time when vestiges of former pagan deity worship began to die out in the Celi De communities (still before the time of the Roman Catholic St. Patrick) when Jesu Christa began to just be called The Lord of Light! I would also like to add that the Celi De were Druidic in their style of worship in many ways and lived in harmony with the Druids unlike later Roman Catholics. Also the Celi De in the beginning were very egalitarian, and stayed that way until absorbed into the later Roamn Traditions before finally being all but destroyed by The Roman Church. The Ancient Celts had stories of how The Lord of Light drove back the darkness and brought Light, order, reason, art, and beauty into the chaotic darkness of the universe. We Celi De of course attribute these same things to Christ! Lughnasadh today is celebrated by both Pagans and Celi De alike to honor Light in all of it's various splendid forms and manifestations. Love is the greatest manifestation! Physical light as in a lamp, the sun, the moon, the stars, and fire light; are also manifestations. Education, knowledge, truth, wisdom, logic, reason, teaching, and Learning are forms of light; as are acts of Courage and Love. Light has many forms and now is the time to celebrate them all and be thankful for the Grace of the Gift of Light! So Today on my blog I offer this series of Images depicting Light in many of it's wonderful forms in the Hope that they will Inspire you to great thoughts and great creative energies! The Light of Beauty is all around us Giving us The Light of Hope if we only remember to have the Courage and Audacity to look for it!
MAY THE LIGHT OF LOVE BE IN YOUR LIFE AND BLESS YOU WITH GRACE AND ABUNDANCE AND THE GIFT OF LIGHT IN ALL ITS GLORIOUS FORMS AND MANIFESTATIONS! MAY THE LIGHT OF LIFE KEEP YOU SAFE, EVER HEALING, AND EVER EVOLVING!
